Understand This

I'll never understand the opposite sex and I'm sure the opposite sex will probably think the same with us. It's just, I don't understand them sometimes, or maybe I just don't understand myself? Heh. You won't ever really know if they're okay or not, or whether or not they are cool with you or anything really. I've had my fair share of female experiences, whether it's dating them, being in a relationship with them or even just being friends with them, I've almost been everywhere with them, but still, I don't understand them as much I would like to.

I wish I could be better at this kinda thing. I ask if they're okay, they're "fine". But are they really? What do you want us to say? Or do? You want us to be concerned or do you want us to not to care and move on, because I certainly aren't sure myself. Whatever it is, I just want to know, properly. Yes, I guess I can understand that maybe you don't want to talk about it? But I'm up for listening, yes, I may not understand everything that you girls are saying out of your mouth, but I certainly can be your shoulder to lean on, so why don't you lean on me instead of bottling it up?

You see, this process of thinking and understanding the opposite sex, ultimately puts me in the mood, emotion and state of mind that the girl supposedly wasn't. Does that make sense to you? I've certainly made no sense in my writing, I'm just writing along here and there. Yes yes. Ok, I'm going off track a bit I know, usually, I start these posts with a friendly, "Hey!" or "Today I did this..." Maybe it's a good time to start already? I'll work backwards.

I got a haircut after school as my hair was starting to go all afro on me again. My Dad took me down to Wolverton and we dropped his car off to a hand car wash service and walked down to the Agora. I wasn't overally satisfied with my hair at first, but after a shower, I guess I have to accept it really?

Beforehand, I had free lessons, where I just spent my days reading my book, which currently is a novel by Mark Haddon and it's called, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time". I just was caught onto the book and wasn't really in the mood to talk to Pete, Sarah, Mark, Lizi and Cece. Nothing against them, just, I don't know, wasn't in the right frame of mind?

The start of school wasn't particularly interesting either. What more can I say? I'm sorry for the negative tone that I've written in tonight's blog entry, I wish it were more cheerful and somewhat positive. Hopefully I'll brighten up by tomorrow.

I Amsterdam

Hey hey. I came back from my Amsterdam trip last night. It was amazing. I enjoyed myself very much, I'll go through it day by day to make it easier to read!

Oh by the way, click here for the pictures on my Flickr.

Friday 2nd March

Tom and I went home from school early and arrived at my house at 1pm, where Leigh was waiting to come inside my house already. We ordered pizza, but it came quite late, not usual for the pizza place we order from. I watched the new episode of Naruto Shippuden, Tom and Leigh already seen it, but didn't mind watching it again. Twas an amusing episode.

Liz and Co. picked us up at around 2.30pm - 3pm and we were on our to Luton airport. We put in one of Marshall's mix CD's which he made for us for the trip, but I didn't have enough time to rip it on my PC. He put some pretty good tunes on there and we were all thankful for Marshall for doing it for us, after all the shit he has been through. Love that guy.

We arrived at the airport earlier than expected as the roadworks didn't stop us at all, it was perfectly fine actually. We all just chilled out out at the airport, waiting for the checkout time, so I bought myself a magazine to read and such. After checkout, we proceeded to go through those metal detectors, seems like I got searched as I forgot to take off my belt. Lame. It was funny though.

I forgot what time our flight was, but we spent some time in Duty Free before anything. Tom and I played on some old skool arcade machines, seems like I got the high scores! Wahey! A bunch of us were trying on some sunglasses and I must say Tom looked pretty good in some of the shades that he picked up. I'll wait till summer until I get a new pair or so.

On the plane, I sat next to Cece and Liz and I took the window seat. Although, there was ice on my window, so I couldn't see clearly outside the window. Not that it mattered anyway, seeing as it was pitch black. The lights were pretty though. The flight only took about 15 minutes, in which, I was on the back of the plane, waiting to go past the drinks thingy. Whilst in the toilet, we got turbulence and that threw me off guard. Heheh. Also on the plane, some people were shouting, "Where's Kevin?", like from Home Alone, then someone shouted out, "Where's Marshall?" XDDD! I was in hysterics! Seemed like we were having fun already.

It was all very exciting stepping down into the Netherlands! I couldn't help but jump around all hyper, it was indeed somewhat of a rush. At the airport, Mark got lost and already problems were starting. Heheh, but I was the one who noticed he was gone.

Seemed like we'd have to get two taxis to the hotel, a car of 8 and 4. A bunch of us went in the people carrier, and Mark broke the seat, so Leigh had to sit on it. That was humorous to say the least. The taxi ride took ages, the hotel was far, seems like we'd have to do some big ass treks just to get into Amsterdam itself. The fare went up to €75. WTF?

The hotel was beautiful and very posh. It had a bar and the rooms were very spacious. I quite liked the hotel location, it was in the middle of nowhere! Heheh. There was a small lake nearby and also a castle/manor house of some sort. We spent the night at the bar, where we met the nicest and coolest bartender ever, his name was Andrew and he spoke great English, with that Dutch accent though. Love it.

I ordered a few drinks here and there, including Sambuca, Passoa, White Wine and Southern Comfort and Coke. Before I knew it, I was already drunk, tipsy and all happy. Everyone seemed to be drunk by this point, apart from the people who weren't drinking. I will mention no names. I played some music on my phone, seemed like everyone dug my Beastie Boys.

We all went back to our rooms around 12am, I hung out with Livia and Liz in their room, and Sophie invited us back into their room and so we all moved into there. But in the end, we all spent the night in the same bed, chatting until 5.30am in the morning. It was Liz, Livia, Sophie, Leigh and Cece all in one bed. It was fun though, we had a great laugh and also got into deep conversation at one point, which was good, I felt we all got closer together. We had to get up at 8am to meet up and get ready to go into Amsterdam itself. So we all just got around 2 hours sleep maximum.

Saturday 3rd March

Us five were pretty much tired in the morning, but we all survived. We all got ready for 8am, to find that LJ was still in her PJs? But I swear I heard her say, let's ALL meet at 8am? Oh well, Tom, Leigh, Mark and I all went down to the breakfast room for breakfast, obviously. The food there was nice and tasty, good quality stuff, that's what you expect for an expensive and posh hotel eh? We were only allowed to go up once though, so Leigh only got a piece of bread, unaware of the rules and paid €18 for a piece of bread for breakfast. It was quite amusing. Heheh.

So we were all ready by about 9.30am or so, I forgot what time we all were eventually together. We walked to the bus stop and it was raining unfortunately. So glad I brought my umbrella though, that worked wonders. The public transport in the Netherlands is amazing, the buses were right on time and the bus itself was classy in it's own right. The train station wasn't far from the hotel itself, so it was quite a short bus ride. The train station wasn't modern, but not old. Random graffiti planted everywhere, it was nice to see the cultural graffiti.

The train also came on time, and it was also double decker! Wow. Never seen anything like it, it was nice to look at and, I just realised now, but it was for first class, oh well, we never got questioned, we are foreigners! The train ride though, was long, but it flew on by because I spent my time staring out of the window, looking at the view. They weren't exactly the best views, but it was interesting being in another country altogether. Holland has a lot of water though, trust me on that one.

We got into Amsterdam and it was busy busy, but I like the city life. The first thing though, when we get into the lovely city of Amsterdam is an outside urinal. And around 2 guys peeing in it, freely, without a care in the world. My thoughts were: WELCOME TO AMSTERDAM! Heheh. It was amusing to see and I was very tempted to use it myself.

We went down one of the main streets and made our visit into the sex museum. Man, what a weird place, but it made me laugh and giggle at the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in my life. The black room was too much for me though, as soon as I saw animal porn, I was gone.

After so, we spent AGES going through similar souvenir shops, I bought presents for my family and friends. Lots and lots of sexual and drug references in their products, it was hard to find a clean one for my brother. Heheh. After spending ages ages in these shops, we were getting pretty hungry, so where do we decide to go? McDonald's...

Yeah, FUCKING McDonald's. Grrr. Where's my Argentinean steakhouse? Or my Indonesian dish? Damn. I felt like the only one like screaming out, but for arguments sake, I decided against it, I didn't want to cause conflict or look like I was being the wet rag, so I kept my mouth zipped up.

Although, in Amsterdam, McDonald's, very very similar to the McDonald's in UK, USA, Spain, France and Portugal, there was a guy trying to use UK pounds to pay for his meal. He wasn't even English!? What the fuck? I mean seriously? Also, pigeons in the store. 0_0

We finally finally moved off that street and into the Dam Square. A bunch of us wanted to go to Anne Frank's house, but supposedly it would be full of queue's and shit? Damn, what a disappointment, again, no disagreeing here, I just went with the flow, kinda like water, isn't that right Bruce Lee?

The Dam square was beautiful, street performers and such a lively and busy environment. Reminded me somewhat of Barcelona. We all decided to go to The Amsterdam Dungeon. It was really really cool in there and there was this "hot" guy that all of the ladies couldn't take their eye off. Heheh, I don't blame them though. The dungeon was fun and entertaining to be in and the staff were friendly. The tour was quite lengthy, but it went by quite quickly.

We all bought photos of the trip inside Amsterdam Dungeon and I bought a nice shot glass from there for Marshall boy. We proceeded to go back to Amsterdam Square, where we saw a cool street performer from Canada. He was cool and made a lot of us laugh, especially Sarah. Although, he kinda pushed the limit too far at times, it was quite extreme. Heheh.

We all wandered off into a street and ended up in a Little Chinatown, does every city have a Chinatown? Heheh, great. I think we were near the Red Light District as we saw some sex shops along the street. There was a nice canal along the street too. I took some pictures, trying out my photography skills.

By this time, we were all pretty tired, but I was definitely up for much more. I wanted to visit the Van Gough museum. I really really wish we did too you know, but again, we couldn't due to certain reasons or some shit like that. To say the least, I was very disappointed that we couldn't go, I really wanted to visit that museum too. =(

We all decided to go home. So we did. Goodbye Amsterdam, I really did love you. I really did. I will visit you again, I promise.

When we got home, there were problems ahead. Inevitable really though when we had that amount of people on the trip. LJ tried to book a table for 12 really late and we couldn't get any placements, so we just ended up pizza in our rooms. LJ was quite upset over this, so she spent her time in her room with Jason and the rest of us listened to my iPod and ate pizza altogether. It was fun, we were listening to Queen. The usual Bohieman Rhapsody and so on.

Some of us went out to take a "walk" into the woods.

I won't actually verbally say I did it on this blog, but you can guess what I did during this time. I was very nervous and I even had doubts doing it. I was somewhat scared for myself and I knew I was going to change during this phase. Nevertheless, I went through with it. It was such a weird but unforgettable experience. Out there, staring into the moon and stars, it was a good way to do it, it helped relax me, aswell as the actual thing itself. Heheh. I won't lie though, I did enjoy myself and it was something I don't regret doing at all.

So after that, I was giddy and happy all of a sudden. I never appreciated the trees and nature so much in my life. Oreos never tasted better and glasses of alcohol were never so amusing as I thought they should be. I decided to drink to add to this sudden rush of happiness. I got pretty wasted by this point, a mixture of being high and drunk. Everyone though, had a good time, we brought my iPod connector downstairs and listened to the tunes on there. Heheh. At one point I was dancing like an idiot to the Beastie Boys with Sarah. That was cool.

Before I knew it, it was "bed time". We all decided to crash down at Liz and Liv's room. Still recovering from earlier, I was still pretty much giddy and spaced out. Liv was offering M&M's and Liz thought it would be a good idea to shove them up my nose instead. In doing so, I wasn't able to breath and I was laughing at the same time. It was classic.

I visited Mark and Leigh's room, saying goodnight and Sarah said that most random comment ever made in history and said, "DeeJay, you have a really nice package". o_0? WTF? XDD!!!
That was something I'll never forget. Bwahaha.
I tried to stay up and talk to the guys, but I fell asleep at around 2am, I was very exhausted from the night before and the travelling we did all day. Seems like the guys who didn't sleep late the other night stayed up this time until 6.30am and did what we did. That was cool of them.

Sunday 4th March

We woke up slightly later than last time, say around 10am. Which was good, I got alot of sleep this time and felt somewhat refreshed. I didn't feel any after effects of my antics last night, but Livia did. Unlucky for her.

This day was very unorganised, so Leigh, Sophie, Cece, Sarah and I decided we should go on a bike ride and explore the nearby town and village. The bike in Amsterdam are the coolest bikes I've ever ever ridden in my life. They were awesome. You had to pedal backwards to brake and the handle bars were on the side. There was even bike lane on the road, God, I love Holland.

I crashed into Leigh after he showed off in front of me as a car was coming the other way. Hehehe. OMG! It was so funny. It left a massive bruise on his leg. Ouch! The bike ride was awesome and I saw some hot girls on the girls bikes too. We also played in a random park near a small village. We had to go back to the hotel to meet the others for lunch. We went into the town center and ate in a resturant there. A chinese one to be exact. It was okay to be in there, we had some great conversations in there. Like, whoops, Leigh, you dropped 20p. XDDD!!!

Lunch was over before we knew it and we walked around town even more. Holland is very traditional and all of the stores were closed on a Sunday. So it was quiet and almost like a ghost town. We had fun telling jokes out and about, just chilling and getting closer as friends. We found a ice cream parlour and bunch of the guys got some ice cream, but I was still full up from the previous meal. Heheh. Sarah though, licked cream off my nose? Heheh.

It was time to leave the lovely country of Holland. The trip seemed so damn short and it was sad to go as I had a pretty damn good time hanging out with my friends and I felt we all got closer as friends, I really learnt that I have the most amazing set of friends. To all you guys. I love you. You know who you are.

We spent time at the airport playing card games, especially cheat/bullshit, where most of us participated. It was awesome and so funny too. I was pretty good at that game and even helped Sarah get through that game. Heheh. We played with Kama Sutra cards mind you. =p

We all split up and shopped around in duty free. I spent my time with Liz, Liv and Sophie, browsing various shops and looking at the cheap alcohol. Heheh. So tempting. I actually regret not buying any now. Poo. Heheh.

The flight was delayed, so we did a lot of shuffling around the waiting area, but I didn't mind all that much. On the plane I sat next to Sarah and Liz, where they were doing seductive poses and shit. I had enough of that, so I licked my hand and wiped it on Sarah. XDDDDD!!! It was random but amusing for all three of us.

When we got to the airport, I felt sad that the trip was over. =( I was going to miss it all. Even the sides of people that I've never seen before. Hopefully they'll return one day. My Dad picked us from the airport and we dropped Leigh and Tom off home.

Overall, the holiday was amazing, I had the most fun with my friends, although, it had it's ups and downs, but in the end, I can't complain because being with my friends was the thing. I am sorry Marshall that you couldn't come. I dedicated a drink to you my friend. You were greatly missed and we will all make it up to you. I promise.

Boys Don't Cry?

I would say I'm sorry
If I thought that it would change your mind
But I know that this time
I've said too much
Been too unkind

I try to laugh about it
Cover it all up with lies
I try and
Laugh about it
Hiding the tears in my eyes
'cause boys don't cry
Boys don't cry

I would break down at your feet
And beg forgiveness
Plead with you
But I know that
It's too late
And now there's nothing I can do

So I try to laugh about it
Cover it all up with lies
I try to
laugh about it
Hiding the tears in my eyes
'cause boys don't cry

I would tell you
That I loved you
If I thought that you would stay
But I know that it's no use
That you've already
Gone away

Misjudged your limits
Pushed you too far
Took you for granted
I thought that you needed me more

Now I would do most anything
To get you back by my side
But I just
Keep on laughing
Hiding the tears in my eyes
'cause boys don't cry
Boys don't cry
Boys don't cry

If there was one song I wish I wrote, it would be this one. It's perfection. About a guy, who broke up with his girlfriend and tries to cover up the fact he's upset by laughing about it because it's known that boys don't cry.

And Just Like That

I opted to go to school on Friday as it was the last day of term, I wanted to spent it with my friends and such, plus I don't mind fridays all that much anyway. So I didn't want to take the bus, so I asked my Dad to take me to school with his work run. Which is at like 7.30am, so I arrived at school at 7.50am to find that we were re-directed to go home.

Another snow day. Never in the history of my education life, I've never had two snow days in a row, let alone two snow days in a year! It was quite exciting and awesome all at the same time, seems like we got an early half-term! There is a God.

Liz invited me over to her house to go sleding and have snowfights down at her area. This is because we live quite close to each other, which we never realised. To get there though, I took a number 5 bus and stopped outside the Concrete Cows. It was about 11.50am by this point. So Liz, Emily (Liz's Sister) and I went sleding down this cool hill, with a ravine at the end, so it was quite dangerous too! It was fun though, I'd never been sleding before, so I had loadsa fun!

Also had a really cool snowfight in the open field, I was used to hiding behind cars on my battlefriend, but oh well, I think I did pretty well, we all ended up lying in the snow and make snow angels and what have you. It got pretty cold and started to snow once again, we decided to go inside and have some hot chocolate and watch movies instead.

So like, we decided to watch the High School Musicial. WTF? That film had me doing this 0_0 half of the time, we stopped watching after about 30 minutes or so and decided to watch Heroes instead because we both know it's so much l33t than that! Heheheh. I went home at 4pm because I was actually so cold, I also missed my bus, which didn't help. =.=;;

Then went along to the Valentine's Party down at The Windmill. It was a tad bit crap at first, just a bunch of Year 12's dancning and prancing around like idiots and such. They even managed to break a table and dropped like 10 glasses. Idiots. But the upside is that I got served at the bar. I decided to pace myself and didn't actually get all that drunk until like the last two hours, so it was good.

It didn't turn out all that bad at the end, the music though, was kinda shit, the DJ kept speaking over the tunes and it wasn't really Valentine's, more Drum&Bass and Mainstream Pop. Not alot of Year 13's turned up either, but a handful of my friends came and that's what matters eh?

I've had a fun few days, memories will be always here in my head, great times I say. Oh, Liz went to Austraila today, hope she has a good and safe trip over there, plus she's going to Singapore! I envy her so much! >_<;; I bought Bic Runga's CD and Fun Lovin' Criminal's Greatest Hits, so more listening material for me. Heheh.

Close My Eyes

I want to write about something but I am not so sure what to write about. I could just describe what I did today, but to be honest, it wasn't a particularly interesting day. It's just as generic and the same as the last day and it's like someone is pressing repeat on iTunes.

You know, when you lay there in your bed and you think about things. Well, it's not healthy for you, but you probably know that already. I was thinking over my past relationship with Maye and the person that I've become now. Also, thinking about the future and what lies ahead of me.

That's why I felt down a bit yesterday, because, I am scared. Scared of getting nowhere and it is a possibility. Getting left behind is one of my fears right now, I want to get it right. I did something wrong to lose Maye, but I don't want to fail again. It's such a terrible feeling. Maybe I didn't do anything wrong, maybe it was just time? (You might agree with me here.)

Whatever it is, I learnt so much with being with Maye. I won't ever forget my time with her, because, in honest truth, it was the best time of my life. You woke up everyday, knowing that somebody loves and cares for you, she was here everytime I needed here. Relationships have always been positive for me.

You know, it's funny that you don't realise the lyrics of these sad love songs on the radio, but one that sticks out in my mind is song by Lemar, and it's called, "It's Not That Easy" and it's has the most beautiful lyrics I've ever read. Ever felt that a song was written for you, like it was made because of you? Well this is one of the songs, it reaches out to me so personally.
